Now there are a few cases where you can account for the isk but its still odd, like for example if you sell an item for an extreme amount of isk. This is an effect of how the market works and a dolt.
If this happens to you then have a little think, if you think that the isk may have come form an isk seller messing upp then put this info in the petition, ex:
You sell one unit of 150mm autocannon for 250.000.000isk. In all probability someone put upp an autocannon for sale in the same station as you have the lowest price, he put the price at 250.000.000. A third party chose to buy said 250.000.000 autocannon but as the game always reward the lowest price available the sale your autocannon got sold for the inflated price and the isk landed in your wallet.
This can be an honest mistake of the buyers part but in all probability its a very bad laundering attempt, thus you should check the market, were there other odd sales at that time? Contact the buyer, did he make a mistake? You dont have to return the isk if you dont want to, just contact him/her to see if he/she is willing to tell you why this happened. If the 250.000.000 autocannon is still on the market get a screenshot of it (not really usefull but it coroberates and helps CCP to find out at what time the sale was upp). Quickly put upp a few more 150mm autocannons for sale so that if it is a launder attempt the isk gets removed from the bad player to you again. And most important petition it with all the info you can add. Save the log of the chat with the buyer and supply it with the petition. Be specific as to when the sale took place. Be accurate as to how much isk you aquired this way. Be honest, tell CCP that if it was not an illegal activity you wish to keep the isk (or return it if that is the case).
The point here is that CCP are just made upp by humans and humans that are very proud of their creation, they WILL protect it if they can but if you tell them onestly what has happened and dont instantly spend all the isk or try in your turn to spread it round to make it hard to track then they will listen to reason.
Even if CCP "catches" you before you can petition its easilly delt with, if you for example have not been on since the transfer, somthing that seems fairly common when reading posts on the topic "I went to bed as per normal and woke upp, logged on and was 12b in the red..." Well not having been on is not having had a chance to report the issue, this does not make you innocent but nither does it make you guilty.
True a few innocent fall between the *****s but if you are polite, honest and forthright then I am sure the truth will win.
Thus if someone were to spend $2000 buying isk to your account in order to get you flagged, banned or the like you would if you act correctly get mildly inconvenienced and the "griefer" would have thrown $2000 away for nothing.
And I dont care what you say, the dollar may be in free fall and it may even risk collaps in the next couppe of years but $2000 is still alot of cash that could be used for alot better things that failing to grief someone in a game. I dont care how rich you or they are.
EDIT: Aww common, a ***** as in gaps between floorboards gets bleeped by the spam filter? People who get offended by words that are not offensive need to stop reading boards. |
